Radix

\ ˈrā-diks \

It is the root of the nose superiorly (at the top of the nasal bridge). It is the most narrow and least projected part of the nose. The ideal position varies with ethnicity. Asian rhinoplasty sometimes requires a lower radix when compared to Caucasian Rhinoplasty. The position of the radix can affect the overall appearance of the nose, specifically with regards to length.
